National reports from Spain, Türkiye and Poland plus the transnational synthesis of traditional games and inclusion practice.
Deliverable D2.1 maps what is actually played, taught and funded in the three partner countries. Each partner produced a national report combining a literature review, interviews with clubs, schools and municipal sport officers, and direct observation of play.
National reports
The Spanish report focuses on Basque rural sports and their transition from labour practice to festival sport. The Turkish report covers Anatolian street and board games and their survival in urban settings. The Polish report documents courtyard games and the school heritage of palant and klipa.
Transnational synthesis
The synthesis identifies a shared pattern: traditional games are highly adaptable, cheap to run and rarely gender-segregated by design, yet they are almost absent from formal inclusion policy. It sets the baseline indicators the project measures against, including the 40 per cent inclusion target for pilot participation.
